Preheat oven
to 375 degrees. Sift together in a
large bowl:
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons
sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon double-acting
baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Add:
1/2 cup granulated
sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup (120 grs.) unsalted butter or margarine, softened
Stir well with
a mixing spoon until smooth and well combined, about a minute. Stir in:
1/2 cup coarsely chopped
walnut or pecans
1 pkg (6oz or 175 grs.) semisweet chocolate pieces
Spread in teaspoon-sized
portions onto ungreased
cookie sheets, using a spatula to push the mixture free.
Bake about 10
to 12 minutes or until golden. Remove to wire rack and cool.
